VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The second-ranked Barry Buccaneers had little difficulty snuffing out the Valdosta State Blazers 5-0 on Sunday at the Valdosta State Tennis Courts.

DOUBLES:
- The Buccaneers 14th-ranked doubles team of Sonja Larsen and Verena Schmid cruised to a 8-2 win over Sabrina Schmidt and Estee Widdershoven at the No. 1 position.
- At the No. 2 doubles slot, Hannah Seizer and Julie Razafindranaly dispatched Daniella Barta and Hera Brynjarsdottir 8-1.
- Carolin Schmidt and Judith Bohnenkamp gave the Bucs a 3-0 lead after doubles with an 8-2 win over Anke Poncelet and Taylor Vinge at No. 3.
SINGLES:
- Seizer quickly made it 4-0 Bucs as she won when Widdershoven had to retire after being down 3-0 at No. 2 singles.
- Larsen clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Barta at No. 3 singles.
- The other four singles matches went unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry dropped a total of just five singles games and five in doubles.
- It was Barry's seventh sweep in 11 matches this spring.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry will play at Valdosta State on Monday, March 5 in an exhibition match against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at the VSU Courts. The Bucs return home to face NCAA Division I Georgetown on Thursday, Mar. 8.
