MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 4-ranked women's tennis team had little resistance with No. 11 Academy of Art Thursday, winning 8-1 at Fee Avenue Park.
The Buccaneers and Urban Knights met an entire coast away from the Art Academy's home base, but it made little difference as Barry swept singles play for the eighth time this season in a convincing win over one of the nation's better teams.
Sonja Larsen and Verena Schmid both picked up wins over ranked singles and doubles opponents, each winning in straight sets.
