SAINT LEO, Fla. -- Barry University's second-ranked women's tennis team improved to 8-0 with a 7-2 win at No. 13 Saint Leo Saturday.
The Buccaneers remained flawless in doubles, but found themselves in three third-set super tiebreakers in singles, winning just one of them, in a match against one of the stronger teams in the Sunshine State Conference.

SUMMARY:
- The Buccaneers won the Nos. 1 and 3 doubles matches by 8-4 scores. Carolin Schmidt and Zuza Maciejewska beat Marta Vincens Miquel and Maja Pindelska at the No. 1 position. Julie Razafindranaly and Hannah Seizer defeated Andrada Gordon and Sophie Vlietstra at No. 3
- Fourteenth-ranked Sonja Larsen and Verena Schmid rolled to an 8-1 victory over Kristyna Jurkova and Madeleine Gauthier at No. 2
- Razafindranaly was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Fabiola Cardenas at No. 5 singles. Schmidt beat Gauthier, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4.
- Schmid, the 42nd-ranked player in the country, defeated Pindelska, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3.
- In the marquee match, No. 1 Larsen overcame No. 44 Miquel, 6-2, 3-6, 10-5, at No. 1 singles.
- But Barry dropped the Nos. 2 and 6 singles matches in the super tiebreaker.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry has not lost a doubles match this season.
- Larsen moved within six singles victories of the school's all-time record.
- Schmid and Larsen are 5-0 at No. 2 doubles.
