Women's Tennis Completes Weekend Sweep

Buccaneers polish off Spartans to improve to 9-0

TAMPA, Fla. -- Assistant coach Steve Schram had a great feeling about this weekend. He had spent the past weekend away, but he was charged up for the challenge that lied ahead for the Buccaneers women's tennis team.

Schram was point on, and so were the Bucs.

Barry swept Tampa, 9-0, Sunday in the third straight match of the weekend, which started with a sweep of a Division I school. Now the Bucs are riding high into the biggest road trip of the season when the Bucs will meet No. 3 Columbus State and Valdosta State as part of a three-match Spring Break trip to Valdosta, Georgia.

"It was a good challenge for the girls," Schram said. "To go on the road for the second time in three weeks and come away with three wins, including one over a solid Division I program is impressive. Now we have to get prepared for the Valdosta trip, but I like the feel of this team so far."
