BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Barry University's women's basketball team jumped out to a big lead, and held on for a 58-52 victory at Lynn Wednesday.
Kiara Palmer broke a school record, and Harriet Swindells found her shooting stroke in a big way. In the end, the Bucs picked up a key road victory to head into the final game of the regular season Saturday at home with a chance to host a Sunshine State Conference quarterfinals matchup the following week.

	- 1Q - The Bucs got out to an 11-4 lead at the 5:20 mark when Kiara Palmer scored. Lexy Schoonover's layup extended the lead to 12 in a big opening quarter. | Barry 18, Lynn 10.
 
	- 2Q - Juhnae Richardson's basket with 4:38 remaining in the half bumped the Buccaneers lead to 15. Elin Ekdahl canned a three-pointer to push it to 34-16 with less than three minutes left. | Barry 36, Lynn 19
 
	- 3Q - The Fighting Knights flipped the switch to open the second half, outscoring the Bucs, 18-9, in the period -- the same margin Barry put together in the second. Barbara Cousiño hit a bucket down low inside the last minute to send Barry into the fourth with momentum. | Barry 45, Lynn 37
 
	- 4Q - Harriet Swindells scored 1:30 into the period to give Barry a 10-point lead. Lynn cut it to four with 1:08 to go, but Schoonover sank two free throws, and Cousiño split a pair with 7.3 seconds left to seal it. | Barry 58, Lynn 52
 
NOTEWORTHY:
	- Palmer broke the school season record for blocks 3:48 into the game. She recorded her 77th block this season to pass Lea Mobley (1989-90) for the best in a single season. She finished with six blocks Wednesday.
 
	- Palmer recorded her 15th double-double of the season with 16 points and 16 rebounds. She ranks 11th in the country in double-doubles.
 
	- Swindells' season-best 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting marked the first time she reached double figures since Jan. 10.
 
	- Barry swept the season series from the Fighting Knights.
 
	- The Bucs need a win Saturday over Tampa to host the SSC quarterfinals next Wednesday.
 
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs host Tampa on Senior Day at 3 p.m. Saturday as part of Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. Barry will hold a special ceremony to rename the court at the Health & Sports Center after longtime men's coach Cesar Odio.
