VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The Barry Buccaneers split a baseball doubleheader with the Valdosta State Blazers on Saturday at Billy Grant Field. VSU won the opener 9-6, while Barry came back to take the nightcap 5-1.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Angel Almonte (0-1) was tagged with the loss in game one. He allowed three runs on four hits and a walk in 2.1 innings, striking out three.
- Pablo Arevalo (1-0) earned the win in relief in game two. He worked three scoreless innings in relief of Isreal Cordero, allowing just one hit and striking out two.
- Matt Weidenbach (1-0) got the win in the first game for the Blazers. He worked a scoreless inning on one hit. Logan Elliot got the save. Sean Gabel (1-1) took the loss in game two, surrendering four unearned runs on six hits in 4.2 innings.
- Rapoza led the Bucs at the plate, going 4-for-7 with two doubles and two RBI. Lamazares was 3-for-8 with a double, a homer and four RBI.
