DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Barry women's tennis team shut out Embry-Riddle Sunday, 9-0, at Crotty Tennis Complex.
The second-ranked Buccaneers went 3-0 on the weekend with two wins over Sunshine State Conference opponents.Â

SUMMARY:
- Barry picked up two quick doubles points when 14th-ranked Sonja Larsen and Verena Schmid coasted by Sabrina Ehrenfort and Lydia Carter, 8-1, at the No. 3 position, and Carolin Schmidt and Zuza Maciejewska beat Roberta Krvajica and Georgina Wood, 8-3, at No. 1.
- Tested in the No. 2 pairs position, Barry eventually took a 3-0 lead in the match when Julie Razafindranaly and Hannah Seizer prevailed, 8-6, over Maria Turillo and Kathryn Bock.
- Larsen, the No. 1-ranked player in the country, gave the Bucs a 4-0 lead for the second straight day with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Turillo. Maciejewska clinched the victory with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Wood at No. 3 singles.
- Seizer beat Krvajica, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. Schmidt was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Ehrenfort at the No. 4 position. Judith Bohnenkamp won by default at No. 6 singles. Razafindranaly sealed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Bock at No. 5.
NOTEWORTHY:
- It was Barry's third sweep of the season.
- Larsen has not dropped a singles match to an NCAA Division II opponent since 2016.
- Barry has not lost a doubles match this season.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
