DAVIE, Fla. -- The 12th-ranked Barry Buccaneers fell 103-93 to the #17 Nova Southeastern Sharks on Wednesday night in Rick Case Arena in the Sunshine State Conference opener for both teams.

- 1H - The first half was a back-and-forth affair. NSU went up 15-6 on a Mark Matthew layup with 3:20 gone in the game. But Barry came back with a 14-3 run over the next 4:33 to take a 20-18 edge on a layup by Isaiah Hobbs. The Sharks then went on an 18-3 run over 5:03 to take their biggest lead, 36-23, at the 6:28 mark. - 2H - In the second half, there were 11 ties and seven lead changes. The Bucs took an eight-point lead on several occasions, the last on a David Moya jumper with 11:21 remaining. The last tie came at 2:47 on an Evan Walshe free throw. NOTEWORTHY:
- Eleven players scored in double figures in the game, led by 30 points by Dennis. Matthews added 20 points and Dwayne Gibson added 19 before fouling out with 9:47 left. Kolstad and Eddie Puisis added 11 and 12 points off the bench respectively.
- All five starters for the Bucs, plus reserve forward Hobbs, scored in double figures for Barry. Hobbs, Moya and Daniel Mortensen had 16 points each for the Bucs. Marco Tomic had 14, Walshe added 13 and Tylan Birts chipped in 12.
