SUMMARY:

  • 1Q - It was a back-and-forth first quarter as each team made runs. The Chargers took a 12-6 lead at the 5:23 mark on a three-pointer by Emiline Payne. But, coming out of the media timeout, the Bucs completed a 14-3 run, keyed by six points each by Nichel Tampa and Harriet Swindells. The Chargers, however, followed with a 7-0 run of their own to go into the quarter break up 22-20. | UAH 22, Barry 20
  • 2Q - The Chargers picked up where they left off in the second frame, quickly building their largest lead of the game, 33-22, on a three-pointer by Aryn Sanders with 6:21 to play. Katie Speegle, who had been held in check in the first quarter, had eight points in the period for the Chargers. But the Bucs stayed close thanks to nine points in the period by Ida Andersson. The Bucs had a little trouble holding onto the ball, committing seven turnovers that led to 10 Charger points. | UAH 41, Barry 38
  • 3Q - The Bucs got their turnover problem under control coming out of the halftime break and, despite shooting just 40 percent from the floor, out-scored the Chargers 26-18 in the period, thanks to eight offensive rebounds. Andersson, who had nine points in the second quarter, popped for 11 points in the third. | Barry 64, UAH 59
  • 4Q - Speegle opened the fourth quarter with four straight points to cut the Bucs' lead to 64-63 at the 9:22 mark, but Barry responded by scoring the next seven points on a pair of fast-break baskets from Tampa and a three-point play by Ashleigh Pink. After swapping three-pointers put Barry up 74-66, the Chargers never got closer than six points and trailed by double-figures most of the rest of the way.
