INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final: No. 15/18 Barry 81, Keiser 52
Records: Barry 4-0, Keiser 1-4
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
The Buccaneers trailed by double-figures in the first half against the Seahawks until Walshe gave the Bucs their first lead of the game with 6:14 left in the half. "We definitely started a little bit slow," Walshe said. "But, you know sometimes you start slow and we need our bench to [come through]."
Barry led by as many as 34, which led to everyone that was dressed getting in, but Buccaneer head coach Butch Estes still has some evaluating to do as far as playing time is concerned. "I'm still trying to get a substitution pattern," Estes said. "I'm not totally comfortable with it yet. Players will often tell you, 'coach you have to leave me in the game for a few more minutes so I can get going' and there's a lot of truth to that, so I have to let them play through some of their mistakes. We are fortunate now to have eight days off. It's unusual for us not to play on Thanksgiving, but maybe for this team it will help us to refine our system and get ready [to start SSC play]."
SUMMARY:
- The Buccaneers went on a 27-7 run to end the first half and go into halftime with a 38-27 lead. Walshe had 10 points in the first half, going 4/5 from the field.
- After struggling through the first three games, Tomic had a much needed breakthrough game for Barry with 15 points on on 6/8 shooting and 2/3 beyond the arc.
- Barry came into tonight averaging 18.3 turnovers per game. The Bucs took much better care of the ball only committing 11 turnovers while dishing out 20 assists.
