MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry men's soccer team heads up to Tampa to face the Spartans in a key Sunshine State Conference match on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Pepin Stadium.
The Bucs, at 3-1-1 in the conference, sit just half a game behind Palm Beach Atlantic, Florida Southern, Nova Southeastern and Lynn, who are all tied at 4-1 in the league. Tampa, at 1-4-0, is in danger of being eliminated from the SSC Tournament consideration.

The Bucs are coming off their biggest win of the season, snapping #18 Nova Southeastern's eight-game winning streak 2-1 on Wednesday. Lucas Russo and Flavio Colasanti scored the goals and Marco Sordi had a career-high 13 saves, including another penalty kick. The Spartans are coming off three straight one-goal losses to #5 Palm Beach Atlantic, #9 Florida Southern and Rollins.
Flavio Colasanti, who leads the Bucs with six goals and 13 points, has scored in five straight games. It's the most consecutive games with a goal since Mark Anderson scored in seven straight games in 2011. Ander Urkidi and Francisco Greco each have three goals. Barry is still one of only four teams with a goals against average of less than 1.0 per game. Sordi is fourth in the conference with a 0.97 goals against average and leads the league with 44 saves. His four shutouts is also tied for the lead.
Juancho Fernandez and Marcel Salokat each have two goals and two assists for the Spartans. Jake Richards is 1-5-3 with a 1.34 goals against average and the Spartans' primary keeper.
