MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The 19th-ranked Buccaneer men's soccer team faces off against a conference foe, Florida Southern, who is receiving votes in the latest poll. The game is the regular season finale and will determine seeding for the SSC Tournament.

Both teams enter Tuesdays contest with a lot on the line in terms of tournament seeding as they both sit right next to each other in the conference standings with Barry holding a 6-2-1 conference record while the Mocs are just a half step behind with a 6-3 record within the conference. The Bucs and the Mocs have two losses in common as both teams fell to #3 Palm Beach Atlantic and #15 Florida Tech. The Bucs did beat Nova Southeastern who hold a victory over the Mocs but Florida Southern has a victory over Embry-Riddle who fought to a draw against Barry.
The Barry Buccaneers have been much improved on the offensive side of the ball this year, more than doubling their goal total of 14 last season to an astounding 34 goals in 15 games in 2018. Flavio Colasanti has led the charge for BarryU this season with 11 goals to his name, though the Bucs have truly displayed a well-rounded effort on offense with 11 different players scoring a goal this year. Attacking midfielder Fran Greco and wingman Aday Gonzalez have also made massive contributions on the offensive end; both are tied for the team lead in assist with five each.
Barry's defense has been exceptional during the regular season only conceding 15 goals. Marco Sordi has continued to be exceptional in goal, boasting a 77.1 save percentage with 54 stuffs in the net. Sordi was named SSC player of the week in late September after an eight-save effort in a clean sheet performance at then-#14 Rollins.
Florida Southern has also been well rounded on the offensive end with 15 different Mocs scoring a goal this season. Sophomore James Meehan has had an exceptional season in the Mocs frontline, recording nine goals to go along with two assists. Benny Yusufoglu has been dominant in goal with nine shutouts in 15 games and has been the Mocs keeper for every single minute of the season thus far. Coming off a 1-0 loss vs. #3 PBA, the Mocs will look to rebound vs. the Buccaneers.
