MIAMI SHORES, FL. – The Barry Buccaneers (15-2, 7-2 SSC) swept the season series against the Lynn University Fighting Knights (9-7, 3-6 SSC) with a 3-0 win on Tuesday night in Miami Shores. During the first match back in September, Barry picked up an important record-setting victory in five sets. The win gave Barry a 10-0 start for the first time in the programs history. The 10-wins topped the start that the 1994 Buccaneer squad tallied during a 30-4 season. The first matchup between these teams was the first time that Barry had gone five sets with an opponent.

SUMMARY:
- 1st set | W 25-23 | Despite 14 assists from freshman setter, Bianca Paşca, the Bucs offense struggled to put together efficient swings at the net. Barry hit .150 with eight attack errors, but still managed to take the first set from Lynn.
- 2nd set | W 25-18 | Barry picked up their level of play from the start of the set, jumping out to a 5-2 lead. The Bucs out-hit the Fighting Knights .417 to .086.
- 3rd set | W 25-20 | This set marked the first time that Barry trailed the entire match. The Buccaneers were able to put the nail in Knights behind five kills and three blocks from the reigning SSC Defensive Player of the Week Anastasiia Samokhvalova.
NOTEWORTHY:.
- Through the first 17 matches, Barry has not allowed an opponent to hit over .200 this season.
- Samokhvalova added seven more blocks to her total against the Knights She is currently third in the SSC in blocks-per-set with 1.25.
- Kristina Filimonova recorded her second consecutive double-double and her fourth of the season (16 kills/13 digs)
- Senior Johanna Voss had a season-high in kills (eight) and tied her season-high in blocks with four. She has 14 blocks in her last four matches.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Buccaneers continue their six-game home-stand this weekend against Embry-Riddle on Friday and Florida Tech on Saturday. The match on Friday is set for 7:00 pm and Saturday is at 4:00 pm inside the Health & Sports Center.
