ORLANDO, FL. – The Barry Buccaneers (21-2) took down the Montevallo Falcons (18-4) 3-1 inside the Orlando Sports Complex during the first day of the 2018 South Region Crossover.
The Buccaneers snapped the Falcons' three-game winning streak, who came into the crossover in third place within the Gulf South Conference.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"This was a great start to the crossover," Bucs head coach Steve Hendricks said. "Bianca's service game was tough on them and Audren's defense made a huge difference in the outcome."
SUMMARY:
- 1st set | W 25-20 | Anastasiia Samokhvalova led the Buccaneers at the net with four blocks, helping to the Falcons to a .163 attack percentage.
- 2nd set | W 25-14 | Barry appeared ready to wrap things up quickly after dominating the second set and going up 2-0. Kristina Filimonova led the Bucs with five kills and finished the set with an impressive .520 attack percentage.
- 3rd set | L 22-25 | Despite Audren Rose recording 13 of her 40 digs, the Buccaneers were unable to turn those passes into quality offense. Barry struggled with their attacks, hitting .146 for the set.
- 4th set | W 25-18 | The service game of the Buccaneers made life difficult for the Falcons the entire match. In the final set, Barry tallied three aces in which freshman Bianca Paşca had two of them.
NOTEWORTHY:.
- Rose recorded a season-high 40 digs.
- Pasca recorded her seventh double-double of the season.
- Samokhvalova recorded her second-straight game with double-digit kills. (13 vs. Saint Leo; 12 today).

The Buccaneers continue South Region Crossover play with two matches tomorrow at the Orlando Sports Center. First, the Bucs go against the University of Alabama-Huntsville (18-6) at 12:15 PM and the second match scheduled for 7:00 PM against the University of West Alabama (17-5).
