MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell 78-66 to the Florida Southern Moccasins on Cesar Odio Court in the Health & Sports Center on Wednesday in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action.

- 1Q - The Bucs got out to a fast start, leading 11-2 after a three-pointer by Ida Andersson with 5:11 left in the period. But coming out of the timeout, the Moccasins went 15-3 over the last five minutes to take a 17-14 lead at the first break. Jensen Blassage had 10 points for the Mocs. | Florida Southern 17, Barry 14
- 2Q - The Mocs pushed the lead to double figures in the second quarter, despite the fact that the Bucs shot 50 percent from the floor and out-rebounded them 11-7. But eight Buccaneer turnovers led to 14 Moccasin points. | Florida Southern 40, Barry 30
- 3Q - The Bucs trimmed the lead to seven points in the first three minutes of the second half on a three-pointer by Barbara Cousiño. The Mocs, however, used an 11-2 run to take their biggest lead, 55-39, on a layup by Blassage with 4:29. Barry manged to get the margin back to 10 points by the end of the quarter as Harriet Swindells and Elin Ekdahl hit three-pointers. | Florida Southern 60, Barry 50
- 4Q - Barry got to within five points, 64-59 on a free throw by Swindells at 5:41, but that is as close as they would get as Florida Southern pushed the lead back out to double figures. | Florida Southern 78, Barry 66
NOTEWORTHY:
- Both teams had four players in double figures, but it was Blassage and Camille Giardina who led the way for the Mocs. Blassage had a game-high 22 points, including 12-of-12 from the free throw line, while Giardina added 21. Anja Fuchs-Robetin was held to just over half her average, but managed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jirah Ards had 10 points.
- Kiara Palmer and Andersson each had 15 points for the Bucs. Swindells added 14, and Cousiño had 13.
- Palmer blocked five shots for the second game in a row.
