MIAMI SHORES, Fla.-- The Barry women's soccer team got the 2017 season started on the right foot with a 3-0 win over Felician on Friday night at Buccaneer Field.

SUMMARY:
FIRST HALF:
- The first half was scoreless, though the Bucs dominated the stat sheet. They out-shot the Falcons 7-0, as Felician bunkered 10 players back.
SECOND HALF:
- The Bucs finally got on the scoreboard in the 52nd minute. Brittany Larosa carried the ball down the left side, juked past a defender and sent a pass to the far post where Sofia de la Puente was there to knock the game-winner home.
- The Bucs got a pair of great individual efforts for the other two goals.
- In the 62nd minute, Amanda Traynor carried the ball through the entire Falcon defense and ripped a shot past keeper Jamie Kazenmayer.
- In the 79th minute, Ingrid Lian gathered in a clearance by the Falcons about 38 yards from the goal and sent a blast into the upper left-hand corner of the net to cap the scoring.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Melanie Ziegner and Maddie Hart Pomerantz split the shutout, though neither faced a shot on goal. Zeigner earned the win.
- Kazenmayer took the loss for the Falcons. She allowed three goals and made nine saves.
