No. 6 Women's Tennis Beats No. 5 HPU; Kigel Collects 200th Career Victory

Buccaneers meet No. 1 Armstrong 10 a.m. Friday in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Ana Pain has been a part of teams that have generated 80 of the now milestone 200 wins.

"Well, I am just happy for him," Pain said after dusting off Leticia dos Santos, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5 singles. "I hope there will be more."

Pain and Barry University's sixth-ranked women's tennis team did their part to make nine-year coach Avi Kigel happy Wednesday after beating fifth-ranked Hawai'i Pacific, 7-2, at Armstrong Tennis Complex. Kigel collected his 200th career victory as the Bucs ran their record to 10-0 this season.

"I am honored and proud to get the 200th win, especially against such a good team as HPU," Kigel said. "The achievement really showcases all the hard work that all my players and coaches have put in the last nine years. I can't wait to get to 300 wins now."

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"Overall, it was a good win against one of our main rivals. We have had easy matches since the beginning of the season, and this one challenged us more. The chemistry of the team is good, and I think it shows on the court. As long as everyone is working and involved, we have a good shot."
