Baseball Loses Close Battle To Nova In Game One

Seven combined homers on the night, Barry tabbed four of them!

DAVIE, Fla. – Barry baseball dropped a close game to Nova Southeastern in game one of the weekend conference series Friday night, losing 5-6.

SUMMARY:

  • T1: Julian Abreu starts the Bucs right off the bat with a homer to center field, taking the 1-0 lead.
  • B1: Dylan Woods evened the game at 1-1 with a double to right center to score one RBI.
  • T4: Barry regained the lead to make it 4-1 in the fourth. Justin Lamazares, Ryan Baldwin and Alffredi Ramos each homered for the Bucs.
  • B4: The Sharks knocked in four runs in the fourth to take the 5-4 lead. Andrew Liberty and Sebastian Diaz both homered.
  • T5: Lamazares singled to left field to score Khalil Denson to tie the game up at 5-5.
  • B8: Jake Anchia homered to right center in the eighth to give Nova the 6-5 lead.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Derik Beauprez (2-0) picked up the win for the Sharks, after giving up just one hit.
  • Armando Gonzalez (2-3) took the loss for the Bucs, giving up two hits and one run.
  • Josh Glick (5) picked up the save on the night for Nova.

Barry and Nova continue their weekend conference series Saturday in a doubleheader. The first game is set to go off at 1 pm, with the second at approx. 5 pm.
