MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 3-ranked women's tennis team rolled past No. 26 Nova Southeastern, 8-1, Thursday at Buccaneer Tennis Center to remain at the top of the Sunshine State Conference standings.
The Buccaneers swept doubles play for the 17th time this season.
Mara Cerrini's victory by default at No. 6 singles, and
Ana Pain's 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Isabella Lowrey at No. 3 singles sealed Barry's win.

SUMMARY:
- No. 18-ranked Sonja Larsen and Pain cruised to an 8-0 win over No. 23 Liucelena Perez and Isabella Lowrey at No. 1 doubles for the first win of the day.
- Isabel Rapisarda Calvo and Dasha Salnikova defeated Nastassia Rubel and Alex Kaeser, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles to make it 2-0.
- Zuza Maciejewska and Verena Schmid beat Arina Sharonova and Eva Agasse, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles for the pairs sweep.
- Larsen, who is ranked 16th in singles, rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Agasse at No. 4 singles.
- Rapisarda Calvo, the 31st-ranked singles player in the nation, was leading, 6-4, 2-0, when her opponent, Rubel, retired.
- Karina Goia walked over Sharonova, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 singles.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Rapisarda Calvo trailed 4-1 in the first set before rattling off five straight games to take command of the match. She has won eight straight matches.
- Pain won her 50th career match. She became the 16th player in Buccaneers history to reach that singles victories mark.
- Salnikova celebrated her birthday with the doubles win.
- Barry assistant coach Steve Schram was Nova Southeastern's former head coach.
