MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – For the second straight day, Barry's men's tennis team shut out a nationally-ranked opponent. This time, No. 12 UC-San Diego was the victim after Monday's 9-0 verdict.
The second-ranked Buccaneers won the three doubles matches in convincing fashion before requiring two tiebreakers and a third set in singles to put away the Tritons. Barry's 46th-ranked Nico Dreer went a third set before finishing off Marc Isaia, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, at No. 4 singles. No. 26 Pierre Montrieul used a first-set tiebreaker to overcome 34th-ranked Alexandre Miaule, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, at No. 2. Eleventh-ranked Carlos Gomez beat Justin Zhang in a third-set super tiebreaker, 6-3, 3-6, 10-2, at the No. 3 position.

- Fourth-ranked Ahmed Triki and Montrieul defeated Sreeganesh Manoharan and Miaule, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.

- Fernando Tous and Dreer were 8-1 winners over Eric Tseng and Zhang at No. 3 doubles.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Triki became the 18th player in school history to win 50 career singles matches. His victory tied him with Christian Witt (2000-01) for the highest singles winning percentage in Barry history at .909.
- Triki also owns the best doubles winning percentage at .867 after winning his 72nd career pairs match.
- Dreer, who reached 50 career singles victories earlier this season, became the first Barry player to win 10 matches this year.
