GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The softball tam split a pair of regional games at the Gulf Coast Invitational on Sunday to finish 3-3 at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex. The Bucs lost 15-8 to #13 Valdosta State and beat Miles 3-2.

SUMMARY (Game 1):
- B-1st -- The Bucs jumped out in front in the first inning. Lynsey Duncan had an RBI single and Maddy VonHagel crushed a three-run homer, the first of her career.
- T-3rd -- The Blazer chipped three runs off the lead in the third.Chelsea Canara had a two-run single to make it 4-3.
- T-4th -- VSU sent 14 batters to the plate and scored nine runs in the fourth to go up 12-4. Jessica Mohl knocked in a pair and the Blazers had eight hits.
- B-4th -- Peyton Rawls ripped a three-run double down the left field line to key a four-run inning to cut the lead to 12-8.
- T-5th -- The Blazers scored twice in the fifth.
- T-6th -- VSU pushed across a final run in the sixth.
SUMMARY (Game 2):
- B-1st -- The Bears struck first in the opening frame. Kathryne Lambert legged out an infield single to score Kendruena McPherson who had singled and stole second.
- T-5th -- The Bucs took a 2-1 led in the fifth on three straight errors by the Bears.
- T-6th -- Jasmine Harris blasted a solo homer to center for the Bucs.
- B-7th -- Ashlee Alexander doubled and scored on a single by Zakierra Webb to cut the lead to 3-2, but Webb was thrown out at third by Catie Falcon to end the game.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Sofie Dominguez (0-1) took the loss against VSU, while Duncan earned the win in relief against Miles.
- Cheyanne Head had four hits, while Alyana Gallagher had three.

The Bucs host the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers for homecoming on Saturday, Feb. 11.
