Repeat Sweep: No. 7 Men's Tennis Beats St. Thomas, 9-0

Buccaneers host Rollins 10:30 a.m. Saturday

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry's men's tennis team beat neighboring St. Thomas, 9-0, for the second straight week, claiming this matchup a day after rain postponed Wednesday's originally-scheduled match.

The Bobcats gave the Buccaneers fits in two of the three doubles matches before Barry eventually prevailed. Then after winning the first five singles matches in straight sets, Barry picked up the sweep when St. Thomas elected to retire in the final match to finish. Barry's Flavio Matteoli led Kevin Cubela, 6-3, 5-5, at the No. 1 position when Bobcats coach Bruce Carrington elected to stop the match. St. Thomas has matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
