MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers routed the Ave Maria Gyrenes 10-2 at Feinbloom Field on Tuesday night.

SUMMARY:
- T1: Ryan Cook jumped on the Bucs early with a homer to left field to take the one-run lead.
- B1: Justin Lamazares scored from third to notch the match 1-1 with help from a Gyrene fielding error.
- T2: Justin Hartshorne walked with bases loaded, to advance Nick Wydler to score from third to take the 2-1 lead.
- B4: Buccaneer freshman, Andrew Rapoza, tied the game at 2-2 with a double to center field, scoring Khalil Denson. Michael Escarra then singled down the right field line, scoring Rapoza from second to take the 3-2 lead.
- B5: Khalil Denson reached first on a fielder's choice with bases loaded, and scored Lamazares from third to increase the Buc's lead to two runs. Rapoza added another run when he grounded out to second, scoring Ryan Baldwin from third base.
- B6: The Bucs knocked in four more runs to make it 9-2. Alffredi Ramos had a double which scored two RBI.
- B8: Baldwin topped off the scoring for the Bucs when he drove in Julian Abreu, to make it 10-2, with a double to left field.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Armando Gonzalez (1-1) earned the win for the Bucs, after only giving up one hit through three innings with three strikeouts.
- Zack Rose (1-1) was tagged with the loss for the Gyrenes, giving up five hits and three runs through four innings.
- After a one-out single by Miles Stevens in the fourth inning, the Gyrenes could not get another baserunner as five Buccaneer pitchers combined to set the last 17 Ave Maria batters down in order.
- It was a team effort offensively for the Bucs. Ramos, Denson and Escarra each had two hits, while Ramos, Baldwin, Denson and Rapoza each drove in a pair.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Buccaneers host the second-ranked Tampa Spartans on the weekend with Friday's single game at 6:00 pm and the Saturday doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm.
