ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers dropped their Sunshine State Conference women's basketball opener 69-67 to the Eckerd Tritons on Saturday at the McArthur Center.

- 4Q - The fourth quarter was another 14-14 affair, but the Bucs had chances to win. Elin Ekdahl hit a layup with 1:58 left to give the Bucs a 67-65 lead. NOTEWORTHY:
- Swindells had her best game as a Buc, hitting 5-of-7 from three-point range for a career-high 17 points.
- Kiara Palmer had 15 points and aa team high seven rebounds.
- Anttila led Eckerd with 17, while Juday scored 15.
