ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Barry University's men's basketball team delivered a big road victory Saturday afternoon at Eckerd, winning 93-89.
The game featured 15 lead changes and five ties in another classic Barry-Eckerd battle that has grown in a tight rivalry over the last few years. It was the Tritons' first loss of the year.
Five Buccaneers scored in double figures, while the Tritons had four players do so.

SUMMARY:
- Sunday Dech scored 28 points on 11 of 16 shooting, including 5 of 9 from three-point range. He also had five rebounds, two steals and a block in his second game with the Bucs. Elvar Fridriksson added 25 points, nine assists and three steals. He went 9 of 16 from the floor.
- Eckerd got out to a 23-14 lead with 11:42 left in the first half. Barry cut it to three on a layup by Johannes Dolven at the 8:09 mark. The Tritons extended the lead back to nine on a three-point play by Marco Behori 3:55 before halftime. The Bucs went on an 8-0 run, touched off by Dech's transition layup at the 2:29 mark to draw within one. Eckerd went into the break up five after outscoring Barry, 9-5, the rest of the half.
- The Buccaneers were 18 of 34 from the field in the first half. The Tritons went 18 of 29.
- Behori hit a triple to widen Eckerd's lead to 12 in the second half. Barry got within three on a three-pointer by Sawyer Glick with 10:46 remaining. Glick hit a jumper to put the Bucs ahead, 72-71. But the Tritons bumped the lead back to six on a layup by Drushaun McLaurn with 4:32 remaining. Fridriksson completed a three-point play to tie the game at 82-82. Dech scored in the paint to put the Bucs ahead by a bucket with 1:50 to go, but Eckerd responded with triples by Keshawn Ingram and Blake Morrow to take an 88-86 lead 48 seconds later. Dech drained a huge three with :50 seconds on the clock, Fridriksson sank two free throws and Eckerd missed a couple of late threes as the Bucs held on.
- McLaurn had 28 points and six rebounds, and Ingram 19 points for the Tritons. Dolven finished with 12 points and seven boards, Glick scored 11 points and Marko Tomic 10 for the Bucs.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Dech scored 21 points in the second half.
- Barry shot 62.9 percent in the second half. The Bucs were 11 of 12 from the free throw line. The Tritons went 19 of 23 from the stripe. Barry outrebounded Eckerd, 30-22 in a game where both teams shot over 55 percent.
- This was the fourth game in the last five meetings between the two teams when the game was decided by four points or less.

The Bucs will host Thomas (Ga.) at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Miami Shores.
