MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers edged the Florida Tech Panthers 1-0 in overtime in a key Sunshine State Conference women's soccer match at Buccaneer Field on Saturday night.

SUMMARY:
- 1st HALF - The game sat scoreless after the first half. Barry held a 13-5 edge in shots, including 7-3 on goal, and 4-2 in corners.
- 2nd HALF - Neither team could find the back of the net in the second period. Florida Tech flipped the shot count, leading 10-7 and 5-2 on goal. The Panthers also had four corners to the Bucs' two.
- 1st OT - The Bucs finally broke through in the 97th minute. Yanni Asson sent the ball in near the top of the box to Molly Sharpe and Sharpe ripped a shot into the upper right corner over the head of Karlyn Prisco.
- Barry had three shots to one for Tech and two on goal.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Melanie Ziegner picked up the win for the Bucs, making eight saves to post her fifth shutout.
- Prisco made 10 saves but allowed the Sharpe goal to take the loss.
- Barry now has a winning record against every team in the SSC.

The Bucs face the conference leaders, the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 8:00 pm in a non-SSC game rescheduled after Hurricane Irma.
