MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 3-1 to the 14^th-ranked Florida Tech Panthers on Wednesday night at Rick Stottler Field in their Sunshine State Conference women's soccer opener.

After playing a scoreless first half, the Panthers (5-0-0, 1-0-0 SSC) scored first in the 54^th minute when Mary Watson crossed the ball over from the right wing and Eva Banton slotted it past the Buccaneer defense from eight yards out.

The Bucs (1-1-1, 0-1-0 SSC) knotted the game on freshman winger Sarah Wignall's first career goal just two minutes later.

But Aubri Williamson connected with Kiera McCarthy for a pair of goals in the 63^rd and 74^th minute.

Karlyn Prisco had a single save to earn the win in goal for the Panthers. Paula Forero had six saves for the Bucs, as the Panthers out-shot Barry 19-4.

The Bucs host the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Buccaneer Field.
