Baseball Falls Late to Lynn

Bucs let late advantage slip away in SSC game

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Barry baseball allowed a late lead slip  away as it fell to Sunshine State Conference rival, Lynn, 3-1.

The two teams played tough defense, keeping the game scoreless till the top of the 6th.

Lynn starter junior RHP Donovan Armas struck out nine to keep the Bucs at bay but the Bucs mustered eight hits from Mike Diaz, Alexander DeGoti, Ryan Baldwin, Jonathan Quintana, Julian Abreu and Khalil Denson.

Barry couldn't take advantage of its offensive output until scoring on a RBI single by Khalil Denson that brought in Baldwin in the 6th.

Bucs starter Alex Lavandero struck out 12 batters in his first seven innings in a dominant display. But in the 8th, the sophomore RHP gave up three runs off a homer by senior 1B Ryan Donovan.
