MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry baseball continued its successful week as it defeated American International 19-6, Friday night.
The Buccaneers were prolific at the plate as 14 batters recorded hits, with seven Bucs having multiple.
Alexander DeGoti led the team with four hits including two homeruns in the 1
st and 2
nd innings, a double, and a single.
Barry scored in the first five innings in a row, with the 2
nd inning being a 10-run hit show with DeGoti,
Carlos Matamoros, and
Ryan Baldwin all hitting homers.
Frank Gonzalez and
Mike Diaz also had RBI in the inning.
Tony Borges, in a rare appearance at the plate, hit his first RBI of the year with a single up the middle that brought
Jonathan Quintana home.
Bucs starter
Alex Lavandero earned his second win of the year in a 7.1 IP, 11 strikeout effort. AIC starter Harrison Paige got the lost in 0.1 IP, allowing four earned runs.
The Bucs improve to 12-6 on the year, while AIC now stands at 0-1.
The series continues tomorrow with a doubleheader slated to start at 1 PM.Â
