MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry baseball continued its winning streak tonight, defeating Embry-Riddle, 14-5.
The Buccaneers got started early, scoring three runs in the 1
st through a
Khalil Denson RBI single, a
Ramon Valdez RBI double and a
Jonathan Quintana sacrifice fly RBI.
Embry-Riddle would make a tie game with three runs in the top of the 2
nd, but in the bottom of the inning, the Bucs would take the lead back with RBI from Valdez and
Alexander DeGoti.
In the top of the 3
rd, ERAU would add another run but Barry would put the game with seven runs from the 4
th to the 7
th innings. Â DeGoti had three RBI from a single and his eighth home run of the year during that span.
The Eagles would add another run in the top of the 7
th but so would the Bucs as Valdez added another two RBI to his impressive night with a single to left field.
Bucs starter Alexander Lavandero improved to 3-0 on the year with a 6.0 IP, three strikeout effort. ERAU starter Nick Dearing went to 3-1 in a 3.2 IP night.
The Bucs improve to 15-6 while Embry-Riddle now sits at 14-7.
The series continues tomorrow with a doubleheader that is slated to begin at 1 PM.
