MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry baseball won a drawn-out slugfest Friday night as it defeated Wisconsin-Parkside, 19-10, in the first game of a four-game series.
The 18th-ranked Buccaneers had their work cut out for them as they went down 4-0 in the top of the first, but answered in dramatic fashion, scoring 12 runs in the first three innings to permanently take the lead.
The Bucs tacked on seven more runs to secure their fifth win of the year in a game that lasted over four-and-a-half hours.
Six Bucs had multiple hits on the night, and five had multiple RBI games.
Alexander DeGoti had a showcase game, delivering four hits, including two home runs, while driving in three runs.
Ryan Baldwin went 3 for 4 with five RBI.
Alfreddi Ramos was 2 for 4 with three RBI.
Jonathan Hernandez got the win on the hill with a four-strikeout effort in five innings of relief. Rangers starter Josh Serio took the loss.
Barry improves to 5-1 on the year while Wisconsin-Parkside stands at 0-1. The two teams go back at it Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
