MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry's volleyball team beat Eckerd in a key Sunshine State Conference match Friday, 25-21, 25-14, 16-25, 25-15.
The Buccaneers (14-9, 6-4 SSC) host Florida Southern (15-9, 7-5) in another big match 4 p.m. Saturday. 
It was Barry's third straight win, and fifth in the past six. The Bucs have won six straight at home. 
Barry hit .323 in the first set, and converted 17 of 22 sideouts. Eckerd (15-10, 7-5) hit .105 in the first set, and were 16 of 24 in sideouts. 
Jaeda Allen gave the Bucs a 19-16 lead, but the Tritons cut it to 20-19. 
Brittany Reynolds' kill made it 22-20. McKenzie Redner's kill pulled the Tritons within 23-21, but another kill by Reynolds and a Tritons hitting error ended the first set.
The Bucs hit .346 in the second set, and were 11 of 14 in sideouts. The Tritons hit -.071 and were 11 of 25 in sideouts. 
Kristina Filimonova's kill gave the Bucs a 10-4 lead, and Allen followed that up with an ace on the next serve. 
Kishara Gordon extended the lead to 17-7, hammering down a kill from 
Juliana Tirabassi. The Tritons cut it to 19-11 on a kill by Katie Arnette, but Barry's 
Ivana Didanovic put down a setup from 
Jenny Trinidad on the next point to force a sideout. Filimonova's kill on a Tritons blocking error and Gordon's putaway ended the set to put the Buccaneers ahead, 2-0.
Didanovic had seven kills and no errors for the second straight match.  
Eckerd won the third set after hitting .387, while the Bucs hit .000 with eight kills and eight errors. The Tritons got out to a 7-2 lead, and Barry pulled within 11-8 on a kill by Trinidad. But Eckerd ran the lead to 18-10 on Keri McMahon's ace. Didanovic's kill pulled Barry within five, but the Tritons rattled off five of the last six points.
The Buccaneers hit .375 in the final set, while the Tritons hit .081. 
Genesis Castillo's kill staked Barry to a 7-0 lead. Eckerd closed to within 10-6 on Redner's kill. But Allen fired off another ace, and Trinidad tapped down a kill to push the Bucs back up, 17-6, to complete a 7-0 run. Kaitlyn Sibson's ace got the Tritons within 20-10. But the Bucs traded points with the Tritons over the final seven serves to wrap it up.
Barry outblocked Eckerd, 5-2. 
Trinidad had 33 assists, two aces, nine digs and four kills. Allen had 13 kills and 13 digs. Reynolds had nine kills and two blocks. Castillo had eight kills. Jaquayla Baker had 14 kills, and Redner nine for the Tritons.
