MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry women's basketball team opened Sunshine State Conference play with a 51-47 win over arch-rival Lynn on Wednesday night in the Health & Sports Center.
Lauren Seyranian and Kiara Palmer continued their outstanding play to open the season. Seyranian scored a game-high 13 points, while Palmer chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds.

SUMMARY:
	- 1Q - Barry got off to a 7-2 lead behind four points from Barbara Cousino. But Lynn rallied for an 11-10 lead at the first break.
 
	- 2Q - Three pointers from Seyranian and Melanie Jordan helped fuel a 17-12 second quarter that saw the Bucs take a 27-23 lead into the locker room.
 
	- 3Q - The Bucs went cold coming out of the break, as Seyranian's two baskets were all they could manage as Lynn built a 36-31 lead.
 
	- 4Q - Barry trailed 42-39 after a steal and layup by Brekia Henderson with 6:45 to play. But the Bucs went on an 11-3 run over the next 6:30 minutes to take a 50-45 lead on a layup by Palmer with 0:19 seconds to play. Seyranian hit one of two from the line with a second left to seal the win.
 
NOTEWORTHY:
	- Seyranian and Palmer have combined for six of the Bucs' seven double-figure games this season. Elin Ekdahl had the other.
 
	- 6-6 Marta Oledzka led Lynn with 13 points. Shante Tucker had 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Paola Vasquez had 10.

The Bucs travel to Melbourne, Fla., on Saturday, Nov. 19 to face the Florida Tech Panthers at 5:30 pm.
