MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's men's soccer team will travel to play Tampa on Tuesday Nov. 1, at 7 pm in the quarterfinal round of the Men's Soccer Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
The Bucs (10-5-0, 4-5-0 SSC) and Spartans (9-4-2, 4-4-1 SSC) met earlier in the month on Friday Oct. 14, when Tampa put a dagger into Barry's hearts with a 4-1 defeat. Out of the last 11 meetings between the two teams, Tampa has won seven times.
Both teams have athletes who can score, as they each have two players in the league's top 10 for most goals during the season. Barry's Thomas Coombes, sits in second with 14 goals this season, and right behind him is Hanno Antoni in third, with 13 goals this season. Tampa's Fredinho Mompremier, is fifth in the league with 11 goals, two of which he scored against Barry earlier in the season, and three spots back in eighth is Tampa's Bay Downing, who has tallied eight goals this season.
The winner of this match will travel to play Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday Nov. 4, at 7 pm.
