MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University's men's soccer team hosts Eckerd Thursday night in the final regular season home matchup of 2016.
Barry (8-5-0, 2-5-0 SSC) is currently ninth in the conference standings, and to make the conference tournament they would need to win both of their final two games, and hope that there are a few upsets among the remaining conference matchups left in the league.
Eckerd (7-4-3, 3-3-2 SSC) is currently in the fifth spot in the conference standings, and they will have to win their final game against the Bucs if they want to secure their spot in the conference tournament.
The Bucs will have to watch out for Matheus Assumpcao, who will be sure to test the Barry keeper, as he leads the league in shots with 55, averaging 3.93 per game. Juan David Tejada will also look to get the Tritons on the scoreboard, as he currently leads the team in goals this season with nine.
Thomas Coombes will be hungry to find the back of the net for the Bucs, as he is just a couple goals from increasing his rank on the all-time scoring list for Barry. Coombes is currently tied for sixth on the all-time scoring list with 31 career goals. Two more goals will put him in the fourth spot on the all-time list.
The match will take place on Buccaneer Field at 6 pm. If you would like to keep up with the action, but cannot attend the contest, follow the links below:
