ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Barry women's basketball secured another crucial win in the Sunshine State Conference as it defeated SSC foe Eckerd, 67-57.
The Buccaneers had a fight on their hands early, leaving the first period tied at 18 but heading into halftime down seven. They were outshot 51.6-40.7% from the field but were able to keep it to a single digit deficit.
In the second half, the Bucs would outscore the Tritons, 36-19, with a strong fourth period leading to their fourth win in conference play.
Amra Elezovic was the leader on the day, scoring a season-high 29 points, including four 3-pointers.
Jackie Perez was second on the team with nine points.
Irene Sanchez also stood out today with a team-leading 10 rebounds, a season-high.
The Bucs improve to 11-5 overall and 4-3 in the SSC while Eckerd drops to 8-6 and 4-4 in the conference.
Up next for the Bucs is a trip to Melbourne to take on conference opponent Florida Tech on Wednesday at 5:30 PM.
