MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry men's soccer earned its first win of 2015 with a 3-2 victory over Georgian Court, Saturday night.
A game that took some time to finish due to an hour-long weather delay, but the Buccaneers were able to maintain their composure and competiveness as they would come back from the delay on a high note.
In the 24
th minute, forward
Thomas Coombes would score his team-leading third goal of the year with the help of an assist by
Patrick Borchert.
The Bucs added to their tally soon afterwards as
Patrick Drmola would score his second goal of the season after his put a way a deflected save off a shot by Coombes.
Georgian Court would respond just before halftime as Will Docherty would halve the Bucs' lead in the 39
th minute.
The second half saw the Lions take more chances and test the Bucs, but Barry was able to answer each time and they would be rewarded for their diligence as
Manuel Perez scored his first goal of the year in the 75
th minute.
However, the game was not set and done. In the 89
th minute Craig Smith would score to give GCU life and put the Bucs on edge for the final two minutes of the game. The
Bucs, however, were still able to secure their first win of 2015.
Bo Haug made his second straight start and would make two saves in 90 minutes of work.
The Bucs improve to 1-0-1 on the year, while Georgian Court sits at 0-0-2.

th at 5 PM.
