DAYTONA BEACH—The top-ranked Barry women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 2-0 to Embry-Riddle at the ERAU Soccer Field on Saturday.
The Bucs (5-1-0) gave up two goals in the first 12:00 minutes and could not dent the Eagles (4-2-0) defense.
In the fourth minute, Katherine Ebbs scored with assists from Andrea Froshaug and Guro Næss Berge. In the 12th minute, Froshaug assisted Næss Berge's goal.
The Bucs controlled play for the rest of the game, making 22 shots, nine on goal, to just six shots for the Eagles with three on goal.
Paula Forero (5-1-0) took the loss for the Bucs, making one save. Olivia Lynch posted the shutout for the Eagles, making eight saves and getting another save from her defense.
The Bucs take on arch-rival Lynn on Wednesday, Sept. 23 in Boca Raton, Fla.
