Women's Soccer Wins Bobcat Shootout

Bucs stop host Bobcats 2-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.—The tenth-ranked Barry Buccaneers won the 2015 Bobcat Shootout with a 2-0 win over host Georgia College (2-1-1) on Sunday at Bobcat Field. The Bucs were the only team to go undefeated in the event.

Shanice Robe got the Bucs (4-0-0) on the board in the fifth minute. Amanda Traynor slipped a cross in from the left wing and Linnea Kogsta poked it forward to Robe who slotted her shot right under the diving keeper.

Lavinia Nkomo capped the scoring in the 80th minute. Rayah Seckler rolled a pass up the middle of the Bobcats' defense and Nkomo finished the one-on-one chance against Ashlee Graham.

The Bucs dominated the stat sheet, holding a 23-2 edge in shots and 8-1 edge in corners. Paula Forero posted her third shutout in four games, making one save on the day. Graham took the loss for the Bobcats, but played magnificently in goal, making six saves.

The Bucs return home for their first game at Buccaneer Field on Wednesday, Sept. 16 when they host the Florida Tech Panthers.
