CLEARWATER, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers closed the Eckerd Triton Spring Softball Invitational with a 9-2 win over Colorado Christian on Sunday at Eddie C. Moore Park.
The Bucs (3-2) rapped out 16 hits, including three each for Megan Copeland, Julie Brito and Ashley Fernandez. Brito scored three runs, while Fernandez drove in three.
Haley Wiseman (2-1) earned the win in the circle. She worked five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on just two hits and four walks and struck out eight. Kristina Pazienza worked the last two frames without allowing a run. She scattered two hits and two walks. Mariah Bledsoe (1-1) took the loss for the Cougars (2-4). She gave up two runs on five hits and two walks in two innings.
The Bucs open the home portion of the schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 11 hosting Palm Beach Atlantic at 5:00 pm.
