ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.—The  Barry Buccaneers won the South/Southeast Region Crossover Tournament with a 12-3, 11-2 sweep of Georgia Southwestern on Sunday at Flagler Field. The Bucs (8-3) were the only undefeated team in the tournament.

In the first game, Hunter Mars and Megan Copeland keyed a 16-hit attack with three hits each. After falling behind in the second inning on a homer by Lauren Thrasher, the Bucs evened the game in the fourth on Lexi Corrente's first career homer, then scored four runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Haley Wiseman (5-1) tossed a complete game, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and struck out 13 for the win. Haley Goodson (1-3) took the loss for the Hurricanes (3-5), allowing nine runs (six earned) on 13 hits and six walks.

In the second game, the Bucs exploded in the third inning for eight runs. Dee Espinosa, Kristina Osorio and Copeland each had a two-run double in the frame. After Thrasher hit a two-run homer in the fourth for the 'Canes, Kelly Martinez ripped a walk-off, two-run shot in the fifth to end the game on the run rule.

Taylor Sabol (2-2) evened her record with a one-hitter. She walked one and struck out nine. Savannah Carlise (1-2) took the loss for the 'Canes, allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk in 2.2 innings.

The Bucs host the Thorobrettes of Kentucky State University on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 3:00 pm.
