MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 3-ranked men's tennis team won all but one match in dispatching neighboring St. Thomas University, 8-1, Wednesday at Buccaneer Tennis Center.
The Buccaneers (2-0) won two of the three doubles matches by sweeps, and picked up five straight sets victories in singles to use the mid-week tuneup to prepare them for a couple tough matches this weekend.

Dominik Haider beat Matias Dasso and Joshua Rosner, 8-0, at the No. 2 pairs flight.
Ajdin Tahirovic and
Austin Cruz breezed past Alain Weil and Jamie Spruill, 8-0, at No. 3 doubles. But the Bobcats (0-3) came up with an impressive win at the top doubles flight when Juan Bravo and Luis Soto beat
Fabian Pronnet and
Nico Dreer, 8-6.
Haider defeated Bravo, 5-7, 6-2, 10-7, at No. 1 singles. Pronnet was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Rosner at No. 2.
Renato Lombardi walked past Soto, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles. Echenique beat Dasso, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4. Tahirovic beat Wiel, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot. Cruz cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Spruill at No. 6.
Barry will play at future Sunshine State Conference member Embry-Riddle (Fla.) 11 a.m. Saturday before meeting No. 5 Armstrong State 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Winter Park, Fla.
