MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University women's basketball team won its first Sunshine State Conference game of the season Wednesday, beating Lynn, 76-63, at home.
The Buccaneers extended their winning streak to four straight to improve to 5-2 overall, 1-1 in the SSC.
Amra Elezovic had 17 points, six rebounds and four assists, and 
Kim Flournoy scored 13 points and grabbed five boards for the Buccaneers, who shot 52.7 percent from the field.
Ivana Vuletic scored down low to put Barry up, 51-40, early in the second half. The Buccaneers built a 14-point lead on Flournoy's three-pointer with 4:19 left in the third quarter. Lynn cut it to nine to start the fourth quarter. After the Fighting Knights pulled within eight, Vuletic scored to extend the Buccaneers lead back to 12 with 7:45 to go.
Lynn's Brekia Henderson scored inside the five-minute mark to pull the Fighting Knights within nine. Lynn's Maddie Herr sank a free throw to cut it to eight before Barry's Flournoy scored to push the lead back to 10. Elezovic and Flournoy both sank two free throws, and Flournoy hit a jumper at the elbow with 1:11 to go to move Barry ahead 74-59.
The Bucs were 8 of 18 from 3-point range. Lynn (1-5, 0-3) shot 38.9 percent from the field, and were six of 12 from long range.
Vuletic converted a three-point play with 1:30 left in the first quarter to give Barry a 24-9 lead. Lynn made a run at the end of the period to cut it to 24-15.
Maddie Herr hit a triple with 7:48 left on the second quarter clock to pull the Fighting Knights within five, but 
Jackie Perez answered with a 3-pointer on the other end to put the Buccaneers ahead 29-21. Lynn drew within three, but 
Amra Elezovic drained the Bucs fifth triple, and Perez hit a layup to push the Bucs back up by eight with 4:41 to play in the first half.
Perez buried a triple at the 1:52 mark of the second quarter to pad Barry's lead to 10. Flournoy grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to beat the halftime buzzer to send the Bucs into the break ahead, 43-36.
Perez had 12 points, hitting three triples. Vuletic and 
Ines Kerin each scored nine points for Barry.
The Bucs will play at Palm Beach Atlantic 12 p.m. Saturday in West Palm Beach.
