FORT LADERDALE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers avenged last season's loss in NSU's women's basketball Sharks Holiday Classic with an 80-60 drubbing of the Albany State Lady Rams at the University Center on Saturday night.
The Bucs (7-3) built a 28-point lead in the fourth quarter and coasted to the 20-point win. Barry held the game in almost complete control, leading for 37:27 in the contest, while Albany State (2-7) led for just 0:58 seconds.
Ines Kerin and Amra Elezovic led a balanced Buccaneer attack with 15 points each. Jackie Perez added 13 and Kim Flournoy came off the bench with 11. Every player saw action for the Bucs, with 10 finding the basket.
Artisha Holston led the Rams with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Ieshia Young chipped in 10 points.
The Bucs held the Rams to just 32.1 percent shooting, including just 2-of-17 from three-point range.
The Bucs face the Miles Golden Bears on Sunday at 4:00 pm in the final game of the tournament. Miles fell to the host Sharks 103-50.
