LAKELAND, Fla. -- Barry women's basketball dropped its first Sunshine State Conference game of the season as it fell 55-71 to Florida Southern.
The Buccaneers fell behind in the second period after keeping it close in the first. The Bucs were outscored 5-12 in the second period and were unable to bridge the gap after that.
In the second half, the Bucs kept it competitive but in the end fell to the Mocs, Wednesday afternoon.
Amra Elezovic led the Bucs in scoring with 21 points, while
Jackie Perez was second on the team with 14 points, including four 3-pointers.
Kaila Britten,
Kim Flournoy and
Irene Sanchez were tied with the team-lead in rebounds with six.
Leading FSC in scoring was Jensen Blassage, who scored 13 on the night. Camille Giardina and Shaquita Snow were second on the team with 10 points each.
The Bucs stand at 1-2 on the year and 0-1 in the SSC, FSC is now 3-0 and 1-0 in the SSC.
Up next for the Bucs is their first home game of the regular season as they take on Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras on Nov 21. The game is slated to tip-off at 2 PM.
