DAVIE, Fla. -- Barry women's basketball earned its first win of the 2015-16 season as it defeated North Alabama 75-67 on a historic day as senior guard
Jackie Perez broke the Barry all-time record in 3-pointers.
The game was closely matched throughout, with Barry having a 14-point lead disappear and having to battle thorough to secure the first win.
The Buccaneers earned their first victory of the year off a big performance from
Amra Elezovic, who had a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds, earning the first Barry double-double of the season.
Also clutch for the Bucs was
Irene Sanchez, who scored 16 points on the day.
Record-breaker Perez had a notable day with 10 points, which included the two 3-pointers needed to tie and then break the all-time record.
Perez overtakes former Buc, Christina Thompson who scored 161 3-pointers from 2005 till 2010. Perez stands at 162 just two games into her senior season.
Up next for the Bucs is a trip to Lakeland as they take on Sunshine State Conference foe Florida Southern on Wednesday, Nov 18. Game is slated to tipoff for 5:30 PM.
