Women's Soccer Nips Mocs On The Road

Nkomo puts in the game-winner in the 75th minute

LAKELAND, Fla.—The 11th-ranked Barry University Buccaneers nipped the Florida Southern College Moccasins 1-0 at Barnett Field on Saturday night.

Lavinia Nkomo scored the game's lone goal in the 75th minute for the Bucs (7-2-0, 3-1-0 SSC). Shanice Robe drove a cross in from the right wing and Nkomo found a slot at the near post.

Paula Forero posted her fifth shutout in nine games, making five saves on the night, to pick up the win. Helena Norrstrom had three saves for the Mocs (1-6-1, 1-3-0 SSC).

Barry held a 10-7 edge in shots and a 6-1 edge in corners.

The Bucs host the Eckerd College Tritons on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 pm.
