MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Coming off an upset win over then-undefeated Palm Beach Atlantic, Barry men's soccer heads to Melbourne, Fla. tonight to take on conference foe Florida Tech in a crucial match.
The win over PBA earned Barry the #22 spot in the newest NSCAA national rankings.
The Bucs defeated the then-#4 Sailfish on Saturday in a comeback victory with goals from
Manuel Perez,
Thomas Coombes and Frank Lusting, and now aim to continue their great run of form as they return to conference play tonight.
Awaiting for them in Melbourne is a Panthers team that stands at 5-5-2 on the year and 2-3-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. Last time out for FIT was a 2-1 win over Tampa on Oct 24.
Players to watch on the FIT roster include junior forward Adin Kavara and senior midfielder Trey Collins, who are tied for the team lead in goals with seven and Collins also leads the team in assists with five. Another threat is junior midfielder Jack Willison, who has three goals and four assists this season.
Senior goalkeeper Mitch Thorn leads the team in saves with 30 and has three shutouts to his name.
Win will put the Bucs in prime position to snag a spot in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament and they'll be looking to secure their place tonight. The game is slated to kickoff at 7 and all the action can be watched
