WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Barry men's soccer earned its biggest win of the season as it came back from an early deficit to upset #4-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic, 3-1.
The Buccaneers put themselves in an early hole as they allowed Jermaine Metz to score his eighth goal of the year in the 10th minute on a defensive mishap.
The Bucs would equalize in the 24th minute as
Manuel Perez would score his team-leading eighth goal of the year with the help of an assist from
Thomas Coombes.Â
The first half would end with the scored tied 1-1 and each team having five shots.
In the second half, the Bucs would explode out of halftime, as
Thomas Coombes scored his seventh goal of the season in the 48th minute to give Barry the lead. The assist on the goal was by
Patrick Borchert.
The Bucs would seal the upset win in the 58th minute as
Frank Lustig scored his second goal on the year to put the Bucs up 3-1. The assist on the goal came from Pablo Georgakopoulus.

Bo Haug would recover from an early setback to shutout the high-scoring Sailfish for the final 80 minutes of the game with three saves on the night.Â
The result gives PBA their first loss of the year and ends an eight game winning streak.Â
The win gives the Bucs their signature victory of the year and a huge momentum swing as they head into the final few games of the regular season fighting for a spot in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.Â
The Bucs improve to 8-3-2 on the year while the Sailfish stands at 13-1-1.Â
Up next for the Bucs is their penultimate game of the regular season as they take on SSC foe Florida Tech in Melbourne on Wednesday, the 28th. The game is slated to kickoff at 7 PM.Â
