Sergio Yepes scores brace in crucial win

DAVIE, Fla. -- Barry men's soccer got a much needed conference win Wednesday night as it blanked rival Nova Southeastern, 3-0.

The Buccaneers got their night started off early as Manuel Perez scored his seventh goal of the year off a Patrick Drmola cross in the 15th minute to give the Bucs an early lead. Pablo Georgakopoulos also had an assist.

The Bucs would spend the rest of the first half trying to add to their lead, outshooting NSU 9-3, but after 45 minutes the scored remained 1-0.

After halftime, the Bucs continue to press their advantage and would be rewarded for their efforts in the 61th minute when Sergio Yepes scored his second goal of the year as he gathered the ball inside the box and hit it into the goal's left side to put Barry up 2-0. Georgakopoulos and Frank Lustig each had an assist on the goal.

The Bucs would seal the game in the 80th minute when Yepes scored his second goal of the night off an assist by Thomas Coombes. Lustig had his second assist on the night on this goal as well.
